Luxury vinyl plank (LVP) is a semi-rigid, thick vinyl strip flooring that comes in long narrow strips instead of squares. It is a multi-layered product designed to prevent scratching and scuffs, severe ripping and tearing, and has the look and texture of wood and stone. The backing is a somewhat rigid vinyl that gives it the thickness of luxury vinyl which is five times thicker than regular sheet vinyl.
More reasonable in cost than hardwood, LVP installation does add some to the cost of the flooring. LVP is easy to maintain with simple daily sweeping and weekly damp mopping. Never steam clean LVP.
